The Office

I’ve been hearing raves about The Office on NBC for years, but with all the other great television and movies out there, I just hadn’t gotten to watching it yet.  But with Netflix Instant at my finger tips via my bluray player, and the first 5 out of 6 seasons of The Office available for viewing, I finally caught up over about 2 weeks during the holidays.  And I gotta say it was refreshing laughing my ass off at this tv show!  Sometimes the show is funnier than other times, but overall its a great escape.  For me, The Office and Scrubs represent the best of sitcoms in the 2000’s, Seinfeld in the 90’s, Cheers and MASH in the 80s.

Steve Carell as Michael Scott and Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute are absolutely ridiculous on the show with their antics and characters.  But it actually works because just about everyone else is so ironically “bland” and “normal” in comparison.  And yet they all have their quirks too.  Bottom line is that I dig this show and think the writing and acting are top notch.
