Definition of a “Coming of Age” Movie: The primary character(s) are in their teens or early twenties (college age) and basically stay at that age throughout the movie. The story is centered around the character(s) discovering themselves and becoming adults through some change in their mindset. They may be coming to an understanding about the past, their childhood, their parents, their upbringing, and dealing with the consequences of those events.
